The 2024 season of Meridian’s popular Concerts on Broadway series will feature three Saturday night concerts in Meridian City Hall’s outdoor plaza, located at 33 E. Broadway Avenue in downtown Meridian. Each of the concerts are free to attend and the headliners taking the stage at 7:00 pm.
Afrosonics will kick off the season on Saturday, August 24, with a collective of musicians from the Middle East, Europe, Africa, South American, bringing original music with an infusion of country, rock, jazz, and opera! On Saturday, September 7, Ultramuse will feature originals and covers you love with American signer songwriter Steve Fulton, immersed in Americana, folk, and rock genres, with funk and reggae sprinkled in for flavor.
Last but not least, on September 21 the Summer Groove Party Band (formerly “High Street”) will bring high-energy danceable hits from across the decades. Also, at 6:30 on September 21 before the final concert, the Meridian Arts Commission will present the 2024 Tammy de Weerd Awards in the Arts. These awards recognize outstanding contributions to the arts within our community, and we couldn’t be more excited to celebrate these remarkable individuals!
Seating is available in the plaza’s built-in amphitheater, but attendees are encouraged to bring folding chairs or lawn blankets. Food truck vendors will be onsite, and Loose Screw Beer will be serving drinks. Guests are also welcome to bring along their favorite foods and beverages.
